Search message in message file

Often you need more information about a message. Here's a simple way to learn a lot more.

CPF0000, CPF9999 etc etc., we see these messages almost everyday. Sometimes we need to find out more about the message. Here is any easy way to find out more about the message or search for a specific part of text within the message file.

1. Run the following command:

DSPMSGD RANGE(*ALL) DETAIL(*BASIC) OUTPUT(*PRINT)

2. A spool file is created QPMSGD.

3. Just take option 5 to display the spool file and search for specific part of the text like TCP/IP, Telnet, and password etc.
