IBM supplied *OUTFILE record formats

When compiling an RPG/RPGLE program that has an input file, an *OUTFILE created by an IBM command such as, DSPFD, DSPFFD or DSPDBR, the most common problem is remembering to create the file prior to attempting the compile. However, this problem can be eliminated by coding the applicable IBM supplied file name in your program and issuing an OVRDBF command at execution time, pointing the system to your actual file. To assist in selecting the applicable IBM supplied file, refer to manual "Programming Reference Summary" and visit the chapter called "Files Used by CL Commands", this lists, alphabetically, each IBM supplied CL command that produces database or device file output. Each file listed contains the definition for a single record format pertaining to the options available on the command.
