Debugging and testing programs

Learn how to use the RGPLE compile options to debug and test programs.

Whenever I am debugging and testing programs I always use the RGPLE compile options: OPTION(*SHOWCPY *EXPDDS) DBGVIEW(*LIST). The OPTION (*SHOWCPY *EXPDDS) parameter allows me to see all fields that the program is accessing and can even step through individual fields when reading a file. The DBGVIEW (*LIST) parameter creates the compile listing as part of the object. This means you can change the source without it affecting your debugging and testing.
