ProData announces DBU/GUI enhancements

ProData Computer Services Inc., a developer of program utilities for the iSeries enterprise, announced enhancements to DBU/GUI for iSeries 400 database access. This graphical version of the database utility offers intuitive access into any DB2 database on the eServer iSeries. Additional new features include copy and paste functionality, print and print preview capabilities and full multi-platform compliance including Windows, Linux and Unix variants.

Now upgraded to the JDK 1.4.2_04 java engine, additional speed, stability and memory management are automatically integrated with DBU/GUI. Behind the scene enhancements to status and trace logging ensure complete tracking and control of your database access. DBU continues to offer efficient ways to access DB2 data without programming. The user has the choice between the traditional green-screen version of DBU or this GUI version, which is available on the desktop or thru the iSeries Navigator or WDSc plugins.

No matter which method the user chooses, the performance & functionality of DBU provides quick and easy access to all information about and contained within the DB2 database. Using DBU analysts can research or edit field contents, reactivate deleted records and include these records for search functions, and even create database maintenance applications. Security can be tailored to user-profiles and audit trails can monitor file modifications.
