The Uniform Code Council, (UCC) Inc. has announced that LANSA Data Sync Direct, a scalable end-to-end business solution that helps suppliers, distributors and retailers meet UCCnet Services requirements, has achieved UCCnet Synchronization Suite 2.3 certification. The announcement was made May 25, 2004, at the U Connect conference held for supply chain technology users in Anaheim, California.
LANSA Data Sync Direct provides valid and functional UCCnet Extensible Markup Language (XML) messaging to synchronize item data through UCCnet Services, as well as XML messaging enhancements such as pricing schemas and retailer requests for notifications. For the hardlines industry, the 2.3 release includes the revised Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards (VICS) hardlines extended attributes, which will streamline the synchronization process for those companies.
LANSA is now eligible to participate in the UCC Solution Partner Program value added services initiative for UCCnet Services. This initiative, to be implemented in July, will give LANSA's integrated customers a 25 percent cost savings on UCCnet subscription fees. LANSA is also planning to be able to offer their hosted customers a 50 percent cost savings on those same fees.
Alan Christensen, vice president of solution products for LANSA, commented, "LANSA Data Sync Direct continues to evolve and provide value to the trading partner community. In addition to supporting the new UCCnet pricing schemas, our v2.3 release will offer a workflow-based Web services interface to enterprise or EAI systems for messaging brokering. This builds upon the previous 2.2.3 release, which provided customers the option of AS2 transport for XML messaging in addition to the UCCnet supplied UTAPI."
