S4i Systems releases S4i Express V2.7.05

S4i Systems Inc. (S4i), a provider of iSeries-AS/400-centric, electronic document management (EDM) and DASD management solutions, announces the release of S4i Express V2.7.05.

"This release marks the next phase and a significant addition to our support for AFPDS files," says Susanne States, Director, Marketing and Sales for S4i. "S4i customers will now be able to capture an AFPDS spool file, view it, interactively set examination points, headers, footers, and csv columns. Users can define multiple indexes, segments and electronically burst the AFPDS spool file, distributing it via e-mail, print, fax, FTP, client, etc. Reformat AFPDS spool files and segments in PDF, Postscript and text format. View graphical AFPDS documents, segments and indexed items using S4i WebView (end user web interface)."

Customers will have all of the other capabilities to archive, retrieve and redistribute these documents using ad hoc distribution also available through S4i's fully customize end-user web interface.

The addition of AFPDS support was in direct response to customer feedback and listening to prospective customers leveraging IBM's advanced function printer description language to enhance the image of their documents through expanded use of fonts, lines and graphics to create form overlays.

"We are also grateful to all of our prospective customers who have encouraged and helped the development process along by sharing their requirements and providing high quality feedback throughout the testing process," says Spencer Elliott, Vice President, Development and Planning.

"We have a number of prospective customers that have demonstrated their commitment to S4i by waiting for this functionality to begin their implementations. Their requirements indicated a specific need that S4i Express was able to respond to very effectively in the area of electronic document distribution and archiving which represents a win/win situation for all organizations involved. We find that S4i Express continues to provide an exceptional level of functionality and flexibility that is often required in many industries," shared States. S4i would like to extend a special thanks to those organization who have and continue to partner with S4i to deliver a high quality product!

S4i's EDM solution allows an organization to manage documents electronically from the moment they are created until their ultimate destruction. Both hard copy and electronic documents can be captured and managed centrally, thereby distributing targeted information to individuals when and how they need it. Critical documents can be quickly obtained through common indexes such as an order or customer number. S4i's complete solution includes document imaging; report distribution via fax, email, print, FTP, client; archive to tape, optical, DVD, NAD; retrieval; online viewing and ad hoc distribution via a web interface as well as electronic forms. This highly scalable solution can be implemented whole or in part and is designed and priced to support an organization's evolving needs while preserving your initial investment.
