Key Information Systems, Echospace announce WebSphere TurboCharger

Key Information Systems, a systems integration company and Premier IBM Business Partner, and Echospace Inc. introduced WebSphere TurboCharger, designed to improve both performance and ease of use of IBM's WebSphere.

Key is a systems integration company that specializes in Internet-based applications, storage and high-availability solutions for small and medium business (SMB) organizations. Echospace specializes in offering interface enhancements for information portals such as WebSphere, as well as providing complete web solutions. Recently, the two companies have combined their efforts to launch Echospace's WebSphere TurboCharger software product to improve both performance and ease of use of IBM's WebSphere software for Internet commerce. "Echospace has developed a very timely solution that WebSphere users will find very helpful, and Key is proud to be a part of the delivery process" announced Pete Elliot, Director of Marketing for Key.

"We're proud to be contributing to WebSphere's usability," said Ed Mohebi, President of Echospace. "We feel the dedicated user community will find WebSphere TurboCharger improves their total experience with WebSphere."

WebSphere TurboCharger introduces an entirely new—and easier—way to work with portlets within WebSphere. SinglePage, the underlying technology of WebSphere TurboCharger, allows for a much more intuitive interface that more closely resembles traditional desktop software than a static web site. Interface improvements include drag-and-drop repositioning and resizing of portlets, non-restrictive portlet layouts, and the ability to minimize, maximize, or restore portlets without triggering a page refresh. All this functionality is implemented without ActiveX controls, Java applets, or Flash, Shockwave, or other multi-media plug-ins.

Pricing is highly competitive, beginning at $2,995.

WebSphere TurboCharger is available immediately for most versions of WebSphere.
