ShowCase Corp. debuts BI solution

Enterprise intelligence provider ShowCase Corp. of Rochester, Minn. has announced its new Analytics Insight software application, a fully integrated, end-to-end data warehouse and business intelligence solution for the AS/400.

Analytics Insight enables businesses to perform business analytics and turn information into a competitive advantage without the assistance of IT. It includes ETL, Query/Reporting, and basic analytical capabilities. It enables users to work from a single central repository of data, maintaining "one version of the truth" throughout the enterprise.

Analytics Insight is available immediately in the United States and in Europe. Prices start at $35,000., Net400 form fax services partnership, Inc. of New York and Net400 of Woodstock, Ga. have teamed up to provide its IP Fax services to IBM AS/400 customers.

Net400, a provider of advanced e-mail and e-commerce solutions for the IBM AS/400 server, will re-sell's IP fax solutions as a fully integrated, cost-cutting messaging solution.'s IP Fax services operates on any IT platform, including Unix, NT and Linux.

Vision Solutions improves clustering functionality

Vision Solutions Inc. of Irvine, Calif. has announced the release of its Object Mirroring System, OMS/400 R7.0.

The new release has increased functionality, especially related to clustering, remote journaling, MQ series and single system mirroring support. Some improvements have also been made to the overall performance, speed of installation and ease of use, the company said.

OMS/400 works with any commercial application and performs in all environments, especially where there is a high volume of transactions.

Integration solutions offered by WRQ

WRQ Inc. of Seattle, a provider of integration and connectivity solutions for the enterprise, has announced two of its host integration and access solutions have been certified as "Netfinity Server Proven on Windows 2000" by IBM.

WRQ's certified solutions are listed on the exclusive IBM Netfinity Windows 2000 Web site and in the new Windows 2000 Solutions Guide, which will be published later this year.

WRQ Apptrieve and WRQ Reflection for the Web were validated on both Netfinity and Windows 2000 through a series of tests, including testing of emulation components, proxy servers and usage metering.

To become Netfinity Server Proven on Windows 2000, Apptrieve and Reflection for the Web were fully deployed to Netfinity servers running Windows 2000. .

Level 8 unveils enterprise solutions for HP users

Level 8 Systems of Cary, N.C., unveil the two newest components of its Geneva High Performance Integration Platform at the HP World 2000, held in Philadelphia this week.

The components, the Geneva Enterprise Integrator and the Geneva Business Process Automator, will provide HP users with a complete enterprise solution for developing next-generation eApplications.

Integrator, based on the Level 8 Hyperspeed Architecture, which brings a business object integration approach. It provides a single object view of enterprise resources enabling, two-way, real-time performance between Web applications, legacy systems and ePartners.

Automator, the other new offering, empowers non-technical business staff to automate existing business processes such as order processing and account queries. It also can quickly and easily define new business processes. .

PalmPilot, AS/400 together for the first time

PalmPilots and AS/400s are at the opposite ends of the computing whose paths will never cross, right? Not anymore.
