Working with the SAVSYS command

We have an old model F35 AS/400. I have been advised to do a SAVSYS. Do I need to shut down the sub-systems prior to doing save system?

Actually you will need to end ALL the subsystems. A SAVSYS command requires that the system be taken to a restrictive state.

From a command line enter: GO SAVE ... Then use Option 22.

For a complete description of what Option 22 does, place the cursor on that menu option and hit the F1 key.
