When I do a SavLib command for one of my production libraries, the submitted job goes to a status of EVTW. (Wait...
for an event). Why is this happening?
I have monitored a test SAVLIB here, and the EVTW state appears to be of short duration -- but then I was saving to a save file. It may be that if you are saving to a device, the command is waiting for a response from the device.
If your SAVLIB command stays in EVTW for ages, try checking the status of the device -- there may be a problem that, once resolved, will allow the save operation to proceed. But if there is such a problem, it's more likely that the status will be MSGW and a message will be waiting on QSYSOPR for a reply.
