If you look at the GO CMDRDR screen you will notice option 8 STRDBRDR command. I'm have been having trouble with submitting jobs using this interface with authority to the QPGMR profile. It should read a file and create source (DDSSRC, CLSRC, & more) that can be compiled. Cool when it works. I was just wondering if you could explain how the database works?
The STRDBRDR is a sys38 command which is very similar to the SBMJOB command, which is a AS/400 command. The STRDBRDR is just a means to start a batch job which reads a source file to start jobs. If there is inline data it will send it to the started job.
The source file most likely contains a //BCHJOB statement -- if all the defaults are taken, we are using a job description of QBATCH which uses QPGMR user profile.
Check the authority on the QPGMR profile or specify a different JOBD to use a different profile.
