A tool has been written to pull data from our iSeries 400 into an Excel spreadsheet using Visual Basic. As the QZDASOINIT job is running, more and more space is allocated to it (16mb at a time) and our ASP is growing dangerously high. Is there another way to re-allocate that space other than an IPL? Will an IPL do it? What is it that is actually growing that is taking up the space?
Depending on which version of OS/400 you are on, you can do an ENDHOSTSVR to end the *DATABASE server. This is the server that runs the jobs: QZDASOINIT, QZDASSINIT, and QTFPJTCP.
