I am trying to create queries. I'm running into a wall when it comes to result fields in the iSeries query. Is there any way to have conditional functions (i.e. if..then, case() ) in a query result field? Does this functionality exist in query? Any help or tips in this area of query would be extremely helpful.
There is not a way to conditionally calculate a result field other than using the value operation code. This opcode will select only the first non-null field in a list. The only other way to do this in Query is with multiple queries and intermediate output files.
