I have a question on the printing options in V5R1, including Infoprint Server and Infoprint Designer. Are the IBM products similar in functionality as compared to the Optio print solutions? Do they offer the full capability of custom forms design, including graphics, etc. We are having a difficult time deciding on a suitable print/forms solution. Can you share any information with me?
The Infoprint Server allows full management of documents in multiple formats such as .PDF, PCL and PostScript as well as iSeries (AS/400) printer files using Overlays (An image used as a document form) to serve to and from any AFPDS (Graphics capable) capable printer as well as e-mail facilities. You can use multiple IBM products to design and format custom forms, including graphics. You can find more information about these options in the Information Center.
