I have configured a printer session for a Lexmark 5150 printer using the iSeries Client Access software. The problem that I'm having is when the printer prints a report from the 400 it runs the letters together. The printer prints fine when printing from Windows applications.
When I configured the printer session, I did not choose a specific printer type from the available list because the printer was not listed. Should I have picked one that it could emulate and if so, which one?
The iSeries prints mostly text reports, these reports are simple and does not include complex printer instructions. Many times when you have a printer that is not listed in the iSeries you may find a similar printer "close enough" to print the iSeries reports properly.
If the results are not good enough, it is always possible to tailor host print transform to meet your needs, an explanation to this can be found here.
