I'm trying to use Operations Navigator's Management Central on the iSeries, and the server job won't start. The system starts a job QYPSSRV, and that joblog reports a socket error: Error occurred during retrieval of local IP address (and also subnet mask). All TCP attributes are set properly and everything else works fine. There is nothing to configure for the Management Central? Could it be that either on the system or the PC, the software isn't complete?
Make sure your host name and the domain is in the system host table.
1. Type cfgtcp
2. See host and domain name in option 12 (i.e. host = myhost domain = mydomain.com)
3. Use option 10 and add the local system with the correct IP number in our example add myhost.mydomain.com.
