My Ethernet card will not ping other machines

I have installed a 2625 Ethernet card onto my AS/400 9404. The card is being recognized and will ping itself, but it will not ping other machines on my network. I cannot ping the machine from my other PC's on the network either. What could be wrong with my setup?

This is probably due to wrong IP configuration. If your network is without router you could for example:

- configure the pc's on the network with 10.xx.xx.xx
- configure the as400 IP with 192.168.xx.xx

This way the configuration represents 2 separate networks and connection is not possible.

See your PC IP address (ipconfig or winipcfg), see your AS/400 IP address related to the Ethernet card using cfgtcp option 1.

Configure correctly and you are done.
