Moving from a Token Ring to the Ethernet

I have both a Token Ring and Ethernet card on my model 720. Currently, everything runs through the Token Ring on the AS/400. I would like to move to Ethernet. There is currently nothing running on the Ethernet card. What would be the process to move to Ethernet? Are there any changes required to Client Access? Does the Ethernet card need any configuration prior to implementing?

Putting aside the actions that are to be taken on the client machine (use different card, connect to ethernet hub etc..) this is what needs to be done on the AS/400.

1. Create the Ethernet line description with the same name as the token ring line. Easiest is via the pcstsk menu (go pcstsk -> define connections). The line has a mac address parameter' if you use sna and wish to keep existing device description set this parameter to the value found in the token ring line description.

2. Configure IP interface address for the Ethernet line using cfgtcp option 1.

3. If sna controllers exist, delete it and let the as400 rebuilt it automatically.
