I've been looking at the various tips on this site and one that caught my eye was "System problem? Let the iSeries page you". I like the idea of letting the iSeries page you using the PAGER internal software -- rather than installing expensive alert software. I have a small, specific requirement and wondered if there is a really easy way to address it.
I need some sort of an alert sent to a mobile phone when an ASP storage threshold is reached, and the relevant message hits the QSYSOPR message queue. Is there an easy way of doing this?
You can set up a system monitor to monitor the average disk storage percent full via management central under the iSeries Navigator. There is a certain threshold that you can set it to. However, you need to purchase a paging package software that can be called from the system monitor. For details how to set up the triggered in the system monitor, see the online publication of management central guide.
