Do you have to have journaling to do incremental backups?
Journaling is not a requirement for doing an incremental backup. However, if by chance you are journaling a file that is going to be backed up as part of an incremental backup, the DEFAULT value for the OBJJRN parameter on the SAVCHGOBJ command is *NO. This means that any journaled object will not be included in your incremental backup. So just to play it safe, you may want to change this parameter value to *YES.
