How to recover a deleted file on the AS/400

I'm working with an AS/400 and S/36. If I delete a file, is there a way to recover it?

There is no UNDELETE command on the AS/400 or the S/36. The only way to recover a file (or any object for that matter) is to restore it from a good backup. Something you might want to implement along with a good backup strategy would be JOURNALING and COMMITMENT CONTROL. Both can save you time and aggravation. Both of these topics are discussed in the Backup and Recovery Guide.
