We are using two iSeries, a model 500 and a model 720, both system are on V4R5. We're using a model 500 for development and a Model 720 for production. Our requirement in our model 720 machine is running out of disk space. We plan to remove some disk units from the model 500 into model 720. In model 500 we have 6606-072 disk units and 6713-072 in the 720. We would like to know if it is possible for us to remove 6713-072 from model 500 and put it into model 720? In our model 720 we have disk units 6717-070 and 6717-074.
Before you make any hardware changes to any iSeries 400 make sure to contact your IBM Marketing Representative. DO NOT attempt your planned disk drive move on your own. You could void your service contract and or warranty or worse, loose your data or physically injure yourself. Because the price of disk drives has gone down, I would strongly recommend that you look into install another set or two in your model 720.
