Getting past firewall to print from Web server
Our AS/400 Web server has a firewall between it and the rest of the LAN, including print servers using IP addressing. How can I print a spool file to one of the printers (HP) on the other side of the firewall from the Web server. I already have the remote outq configured, but the communication job will not start when I try to put something in the queue. The firewall is Raptor.
I would think that the Line Printer Daemon (LPD) cannot get past the firewall. Open the port 515, and it should work. If it is using the defined port for as-netprt, the port you would need to open is 8474.
