Generate a flat file on the iSeries

I have a user who doesn't have access to an iSeries. I would like to generate a flat file on my iSeries, FTP it to my server, ZIP the file and then send him the file as an e-mail attachment. I would like this process be automatic. I know I can have my CLP send him an e-mail (SNDDST) command. But how do I automatically zip the PC file and attached it to an e-mail?

You are correct by using SNDDST in a CLP to send e-mail from the iSeries provided you have SNADS, etc. set up correctly. In order to zip the PC file, you would probably need to try the PK-ZIP/400 software package from the vendor of the same name. I have tried it and it works well.
