The error counts reported by BRMS are outrageous. I have a hard time believing they are correct. If so, what's the difference in the errors reported in SST? In SST there are hardly any error reported on tape media. Which one should I believe?
Believe the SST error statistics for now. I've noticed this discrepancy too, reported it to IBM and they provided a fix for it. Unfortunately I don't remember the PTF that addresses this particular error.
One thing I'd suggest is that you apply the latest V5R1 CUM along with the latest BU/Recovery Group CUM (SF99078). The fix for this problem is probably included. If that doesn't work, a call to SupportLine is in order.
