Daylight savings time

Why not a system value for daylight savings time?

Daylight savings time has always been a question. In an effort to remain global, I guess IBM has decided against a system value to control daylight savings time since many countries do not participate. Most users have overcome this "shortcoming" by creating a CL program to manipulate the QTIME system value and others. They then schedule this program on the job scheduler. These CL programs can be found on many iSeries Web sites.
