I just started with a new company and I have no experience with DB2. We are running V5R1 on the iSeries 400. I have two questions.
1. How can I display the installed version of DB2?
2. Is there graphical tools to manage DB2? If yes, which tool would you recommend?
1. To check any version of a licensed program on the AS/400 or iSeries, type GO LICPGM and press Enter. Select the option to DISPLAY installed programs and press F11 to reveal what version is installed.
2. IBM has offered for quite a while the Operation Navigator that lets you check and control some aspects of the AS/400 and iSeries from a PC. They then extended it to control some aspects of the UDB database. It will let you also build in functions to communicate between outside programs and the database.
