I'm new to the iSeries and I'm trying to get a handle on the parameters for IBMDA400. Specifically, Catalog Library List and Default Collection. I'm having trouble using the same ADO connect string to open and write to a data queue (works), and to SELECT against files (doesn't work - - requires a lib. prefix). I'd like to avoid hard-coding the lib. prefix.
When using unqualified SQL statements the property 'Default Collection' is used to determine the current schema (library).
If not specified, or not set, then the SQL request uses the connecting user profile name as the schema name most of the time on the iSeries -- this is not useful.
This property is not used during tables record level access, data queues, CL commands, and program call processing (those are using library list).
