Code fails validity checking

I've coded a subfile using SFLCSRRRN and RTNCSRLOC. The code looks like all the examples, but the cursor goes to the top of the subfile. The subfile is input capable where I validate the one field that changes and I want to issue an error message for the line in error when it fails validity checking. Do you have any ideas on this?

Use a reverse image DSPATR(RI) and/or position cursor DSPATR(PC) before you update the subfile after the edit has failed.
