I would like to know whether there are any feature within iSeries V5R2 that would change a PF with *NOMAX back to maximum record size (i.e. 10000) due to certain criteria.
No, there is not. You would have to write a utility to check the physical files in a library for *NOMAX, and test them against your criteria. Then you would use CHGPF to alter the ones you wanted to.
