Can the iSeries be a mail client?

I'd like to configure my iSeries to send e-mail as a mail client via my mail server. I've tried SNDDST, but it is not what I really want.
The iSeries can be a mail client that uses other SMTP servers in the organization in order to function. Indeed SNDDST is far from being simple to setup and maintain and many other alternatives are available free on the Web.

The one I like best is the SNDM free utility . It is very easy, efficient and allows for all required options, including use of SMTP services from different host.
