WebSphere business components overview

Date Published:
01 AUG 2002
About the White Paper:
WebSphere Business Components (WSBC) are reusable components that enable rapid application development. They do this at two levels. Coarse-grained components, called Advanced Components, provide large independent parts which when assembled together can be used to create an application. Fine-grained components, called Base Components, provide smaller interrelated parts, which can be used either to directly create an application or to create coarse-grained components. What is a component, and what is the difference between coarse- and fine-grained components? How does WSBC support each of these components? How do you use them? And how do you build them? In this paper we'll explore each of these questions to help you understand what IBM is providing and why.
