Tip

Use shared connection with IBM modem

You can use your shipped IBM Service modem on two different lines without any complicated job/program loop. Just create the other line, controller and device description and then activate a parameter on command, 'Go service' option 1 'Change Service Director settings'. Go then to the parameter 'Enable line control' change from *NO to *YES, Hit Page Down and go to 'Configuration object:' insert a '+'-sign and fill in your created line description Controller description and Device description.

You are now ready for use, now you can share the service resource with an other line needed to be in 'Vary on'-status. This feature will vary your listed line, controller and device descriptions off while the line is in the connect pending status only. After the ECS line is used, the line, controller, and device descriptions are varied back on. This program will not take any action for any other line status. In other words, you can use the Service modem for a transaction line, which needs to be on line and the Problem reporting (ECS line) will then take care of the reports when the line is not used. Save your money to use for other investment.
