Transfer iSeries files into Excel using Client Access

Learn how to transfer iSeries files to Excel using Client Access with this Search400.com member submitted tip.

The first thing you need to do is to make sure Client Access is added to Excel. Follow these steps:

1. In Microsoft Excel, select "ADD-INS" under the "TOOLS" Menu.

2. If "Client Access data transfer" is displayed check the box, otherwise do step three.

3. Click "Browse" and browse through the folders:

PROGRAM FILES
IBM
CLIENT ACCESS
SHARED (and)
CWBTFXLA should be there
Now just select the button from your tool bar to transfer data from the iSeries.
