Tip

Need to configure AS/400's network attributes?

Simply use the CHGNETA command.

BUT! The CHGNETA command doesn't show any of the current values. You have to either open a second session and use the DSPNETA command, or get a printout of the values shown by it.

Here is a prompt override program (POP) for the CHGNETA command. Simply compile the source CLP to an accessible library, such as QUSRSYS and give this command:

CHGCMD CMD(QSYS/CHGNETA) PMTOVRPGM(QUSRSYS/CHGNETAPOP)

The next time you use CHGNETA, it will replace the *SAME shown previously with the current values.

Note: For back-level compatibility, parameters for the new versions of OS/400 are not filled, but you can easily modify the source to include them.
