Easy code copying ... without CODE400

Copy any Web source code in an iSeries source file in five steps.

 
Step 1 - Windows 

Copy the targeted code, paste it in the notepad and save the file in an IFS directory

Step 2 - AS400

create a work file in qtemp : record size is code size of the targeted Q*SRC file (CPYFRMSTMF don't love DDS files) :
  CRTPF FILE(QTEMP/SOURCE) RCDLEN(100)

Step 3 - AS400

copy the ifs version of your code in the qtemp file :
  CPYFRMSTMF FROMSTMF('/MyDir/MyCode.txt')
    TOMBR('/qsys.lib/qtemp.lib/source.file/source.mbr')
    MBROPT(*REPLACE)                                 
    STMFCODPAG(*PCASCII)                             

Step 4 - AS400

copy the qtemp version of your code into the source file
  CPYF FROMFILE(QTEMP/SOURCE) TOFILE(MYLIB/QPGMSRC) 
     FROMMBR(SOURCE) TOMBR(MYCODE) 
     MBROPT(*REPLACE) FMTOPT(*CVTSRC) 

Step 5 - Windows

Cleanup the IFS
