There are plenty of tools, both free and from vendors which can report on the IFS. If you want an easy and FREE method of getting a report showing the folder size and links for the IFS on your system, IBM has come to the rescue with a PTF that allows calling a program to do just this. The PTF on V5R1 is SI05856, for V5R2 is SI05155. To run reports, submit the following call commands to batch.
Be warned: The double quotes ARE intended, not a mistake.
For all the IFS:
call qsrsrv parm("METRICS" '/')
For all the IFS w/o QNTC, QNETWARE, QLANSRV:
call qsrsrv parm("METRICS" '/' "EPFS")
For a specific directory:
call qsrsrv parm("METRICS" '/mydir/mysubdir')
