You've seen the pre-V5R3 version of how to view
(via Service tools) the expiry dates of cache batteries on your disk
controllers. Definitely the last thing you want to happen is for these
batteries to run out, especially for your System ASP disk. Kiss response
good-bye. V5R3 Service Tools now provides an easier method to view
battery information.
V5R3 service tools now provides a new option on
the Hardware Service Manager menu -- option 9: Work with resources
containing cache battery packs. This provides the options to force a
battery into an error state and to display battery information.
