Domino users take note: Backups are easier thanks to Help/Systems Inc.'s newest version of Robot/SAVE.
With Robot/SAVE's new Domino Online Backup, you can back up your Domino servers while they're active and files are in use. Your users don't need to sign out of their e-mail program, and you have the ability to recover vital data up to the time of the last saved transaction, whether you are restoring an individual mailbox, a Domino database or your entire server.
"The Robot/SAVE product is a very powerful and automated solution providing both tape management and backup/recovery function," one judge said. "The addition of the Domino Online backup feature is a great new feature for the Domino users that require a 24x7 operation."
In terms of functionality, our judges called Robot/SAVE state of the art and "a leader in backup and recovery on iSeries/i5." In addition to Domino Online Backup, Robot/SAVE provides automatic backup, guided restoration, a tape management system, data center management, object archive and object list management, and disaster planning.
The judges also praised Robot/SAVE's easy installation and integration into existing environments. It is loaded on to the system from CD and immediately guides you through installation. The Robot/GUIDE feature of Robot/SAVE helps you quickly define the rules for automating your backups. Robot/GUIDE also walks you through step by step how to define a safe approach to system backups.
When it comes to restoring data, Robot/SAVE guides you through complete system restores, including restoring individual objects from the IFS, library system and document system.
