COMMON offers discount to Hurricane Katrina victims |

The iSeries user group COMMON is offering deep discounts to IT professionals in Mississippi and Louisiana who wish to attend its Spring 2006 conference, March 26-30, 2006, in Minneapolis, MN.
The organization is offering a one-time-only $400 discount to all Louisiana and Mississippi residents interested in attending the conference, which was originally scheduled to be held in New Orleans this April. "To my knowledge, this is the largest discount we've ever offered," said COMMON Executive Director Ralph Gervasi.
COMMON, which holds two conferences each year, was forced to relocate the spring conference when the full extent of damage from Hurricane Katrina became apparent. "Our intent is to offer a substantial savings to residents who would have attended a local New Orleans conference had we not moved it to Minneapolis due to Hurricane Katrina," said Gervasi. "This discount allows Louisiana and Mississippi-based iSeries users who would have come to our New Orleans conference an opportunity to offset their travel costs if they still wish to attend."
