The output specialist ROHA now offers label printing directly from the AS/400 iSeries. The SpoolMaster software converts spools into data streams for Zebra and Meto printers thus enabling the user to output his labels in varying sizes and quantities directly on these fast and robust special printers.
Today there is no way past professional label printers when it comes to the printing of labels in a variety of sizes - especially small labels - and in different quantities. Business companies employ label printers such as the Zebra or the Meto printer for example for the labeling at goods receipt, for declarations at the end of the manufacturing process or for the shipping labels at goods issue.
SpoolMaster users who have up until now been enjoying the benefits of the spool conversion for PCL standard printers in all other business fields can now also in the field of logistics profit from a comprehensive output management: e.g. for packing stations the spools can be immediately and easily converted, processed and printed as labels.
SpoolMaster accepts iSeries spools as input and converts them into a ZPL2 data stream for Zebra printers. The user can chose between various output options: printing of spool files either with or without True Type Fonts or with Zebra standard fonts, printing of graphics and logos or barcode printing such as Code128 and Code39, EAN8 and EAN13, 2OF5 Standard and 2OF5 Interleaved. Also the functionalities of the SpoolMaster Dynamic Forms Language DFL are executed for Zebra printers, so that variable scan texts, positions and conditions can be processed. The user can specify the desired graphic resolution in dpi. SpoolMaster also supports label cutting.
For Meto label printers SpoolMaster converts the spools into an SP40PDL data stream thus allowing the user to printout various font types and barcodes on the Meto printer. The Meto functionality of SpoolMaster will be presented live at the Midrange Fair from May 13th to 14th in Karlsruhe on stand D03.
