IBM announced that rebates from $10,000 to $40,000 are available when an iSeries model 810 is purchased for use as a high availability backup system. The purchase must be made along with high availability software from iTera or another authorized vendor, and the transaction must be completed by Dec. 31, 2003.
This rebate translates into a significant savings on the server portion of a high availability solution. In addition, iTera is including their Reorganize While Active product during this promotion at no charge when iTera's Echo2 High Availability product is purchased along with any model 810 that is to be used as the HA backup system. The value of RWA alone is as much as $15,000 depending on the processor level.
