SkyView Partners, Symbiont Healthcare Systems align to provide HIPAA risk analysis

PRESS RELEASE

SkyView Partners LLC, a provider of security assessment and analysis services for the IBM iSeries systems announced a strategic alliance with Symbiont Healthcare Systems, the leading developer of IT infrastructure solutions for integrated healthcare delivery networks.

SkyView Partners, the first security consulting firm to establish a standardized security assessment procedure for IBM iSeries security, is working with Symbiont Healthcare Systems to help their iSeries customer base with a standardized HIPAA gap analysis and monitoring offering. Together Symbiont Healthcare Systems and SkyView Partners have developed a security assessment offering that will help healthcare customers understand HIPPA requirements and compare their security configuration with HIPAA standards.

"The HIPAA regulations clearly state that a covered entity is to "conduct an accurate and thorough assessment of the potential risks and vulnerabilities to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information," said Carol Woodbury, president of SkyView Partners LLC. "Like so many companies that we've worked with, healthcare providers are looking for the information provided by our standardized assessment so they can make intelligent decisions about where to begin as they move their OS/400 systems toward HIPAA compliance."

"Prior to forming Symbiont, we spent years working with iSeries based healthcare applications at Siemens, Intermountain Healthcare, and Healthcare Management Systems, giving us a thorough understanding of the iSeries computing environment As Symbiont we've been providing systems integration expertise to iSeries based hospitals as well as rolling out our technology platform that gives IDNs a unified foundation for data management." explained Dave Rasmussen, director of business development for Symbiont Healthcare Systems Inc. "in the midst of all this, the HIPPA rules came into play.

Our customers were now faced with the need to integrate and consolidate data sources and deal with security requirements from the government, stretching their resources thin. Seeing an opportunity, we surveyed our iSeries customers and the clear choice for the outsourcing of risk analysis and security planning was Carol Woodbury's company. So we've teamed up with SkyView Partners to deliver the best solution for our customers."

The security assessment, risk evaluation and HIPAA gap analysis offering is available from Symbiont and SkyView Partners immediately.
