Proginet Corp. of Garden City, N.Y. has introduced its SecurPass(R)-AS/400 password management software for IBM AS/400 servers. SecurPass-AS/400 allows companies to standardize on a single password for all of their AS/400 and other environments including OS/390 mainframes, Windows NT and UNIX platforms, essentially standardizing on a single password for the entire enterprise. SecurPass-AS/400 is the missing link in the integration of the entire computing environment in the enterprise.
Esker of Lyon, France unveils Corridor Wireless, a solution for extending access to legacy applications on AS/400s and mainframes to mobile telephones, personal digital assistants, and other wireless devices using the Wireless Access Protocol (WAP). Corridor Wireless translates 5250 and 3270 data into Wireless Markup Language (WML) for display on wireless devices and protects that data using the Wireless Transport Security Layer.
Lanier Worldwide of Atlanta, Ga. recently released the Lanier 5415 Digital Copier/Printer/Fax System, an AS/400-attachable solution that combines the functions of a digital copier, network printer, and fax machine. The 5415 provides a print speed as a copier of 15 ppm at 600 dpi image quality and a standard 50-sheet automatic document feeder. Working as a printer, the 5415 offers standard drivers, operating system compatibility and cabling, and an optional Ethernet interface card. The 5415 can also copy and fax two different documents simultaneously and features a 33.6 Kbps modem and a scanning speed of 2 seconds per page.
Oasis Software International releases three standalone utilities for AS/400 programmers. CRTQRYINF/400 (Create Query Reference Information) generates query information about input and output file usage similar to IBM's DSPPGMREF (Display Program References) command. NLS/400 (National Language Support) helps developers make applications multinational by turning DSPF and RPTF constants into variables that can be used by standard message files. Change ILE/400 (Convert and Standardize RPG into ILE-RPG) converts existing RPG III code into ILE-RPG or standardizes existing ILE code with new programming instructions.
Brooks Internet Software of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Redwood Software of Aliso Viejo, Calf. recently announced an alliance under which Brooks' Remote Print Manager (RPM) AS/400 printing system connectivity package will integrate with Redwood's Report2Web multiplatform report collection and distribution system. Report2Web collects reports from any computer system, catalogs them in a secure report repository, and distributes the information to authorized users via browser. With the integration, Report2Web can use RPM to intercept AS/400 print streams and route them to Windows NT/2000-based Report2Web servers for distribution through enterprise report portals.

IT Factory of Cambridge, Mass. recently unveiled ITF 5.5, an upgrade of its multi-platform collaborative application that extends Notes/Domino functionality for e-commerce and application service provider (ASP) administration. A standard Notes client interface and a Web client interface let companies provide access to internal collaborative applications.
