To accelerate ISV and business partner development of Web services, portals and other on-demand systems for the iSeries, Business Computer Design International (BCD) is offering IBM iSeries/i5 Business Partners, ISVs and consultants up to $50,000 in free BCD software product licenses. The plan is for them to build new iSeries-Web applications and create new consulting opportunities in the iSeries market.
BCD's initiative involves all of its software tools, including WebSmart, its iSeries-Web application development tool; ProGen Plus, its ILE/RPG development tool; RDW, its RPG/DDS to Web conversion tool; Nexus Portal, its iSeries Portal for controlled and secured user access to applications and productivity tools, Catapult, its automated document distribution tool with Web archiving; and Docu-Mint, its software documentation/impact analysis system.
Under this plan, ISVs and partners pay only the maintenance fee. They can pick what products they want to use or the entire BCD Suite. If they select the entire BCD Suite, the maintenance fee will be reduced by half.
For customers, if they purchase WebSmart they can receive the Nexus Portal or Nexus Portal Pro, and RDW license free, they will pay only the maintenance fee.
