I would modify my method to use save files based on a naming convention. I currently use Byymmdd as a name for my save files. I have a simple program that goes out every night and deletes save files that are more than 1 month old based on the name. I save to a PC server every night and to tape once a week. If I need to restore, I can simply use the file in the backup library. If it happens to be damaged or older than one month, I copy from the PC server for anything three months back, or go to tape for each week's backup as the last option. Those tapes are offsite and the PC server is located in a different country, so my risk of losing two of the three is fairly low.
