I want to save a library while its files are active. I have read all I can get my hands on about "Save While Active". What I need now is a way to automatically get all users off the library long enough for me to establish a checkpoint, and then let the users resume their work while a procedure saves all of the library's objects to tape or to a *SAVLIB.

There is no automatic way to get all of your users off of a given library except ending the jobs or the subsystem they are using. In most shops, a message is sent out and an operational procedure is used to make sure users know what time they need to be off of a system or out of a particular area of software in order to perform backups.
