QUESTION POSED ON: 09 October 2003
I'm on V5R2 of the iSeries system. Can I use SSL with FTP to initiate a secure connection from the iSeries to a platform other than another iSeries? If so, what would be the best manual to use as a guide?

Yes, V5R2 added FTP SSL client support so you can initiate a session from OS/400 to an SSL-enabled FTP server -- it doesn't matter what platform the server is on as long as it supports SSL. I quick search of the IBM Info Center for V5R2 shows that this topic is described under Networking->TCP/IP->FTP->Use the FTP client on iSeries.
