QUESTION POSED ON: 23 July 2003
I have a RPG IV program that uses DDM files and local files at the same time. This program is being called from a CL that starts commitment control with level of record locking *CHG and scope *ACTGRP.
The program crashes when it's trying to open a local file, and the error message says that I can't place a local file under commitment control when commitment control is active at a remote, one-phase, updateable location.

The DDM files are being accessed through TCP/IP (RMTLOCNAME = IpAddress *IP). V5R1 is the release level of the system. How can I solve this problem?

Since DDM does not support two-phase commitment control, the only way to solve the problem is to use DRDA & SQL instead of DDM files. The Distributed Database Programming manual, should get you started.
