QUESTION POSED ON: 11 July 2001
I plan to upgrade OS/400 to V5R1. I have an IBM 3476 monitor as a console. Do I have to use the CD named "ISERIES 400 setup and operations" to configure the new console, or this is only if my console is a PC LAN attached?

You don't need to use that CD if your console is a dumb terminal, although it does contain some useful information as well as a way to install Client Access Express. As long as you follow the instructions in the software installation guide that comes with V5R1, you should be fine. Also be sure to install the latest cumulative PTFs, too.
